Goodness, it's been awhile since I wrote a new journal entry. Or posted anything, really. *dusts off interwebs* Been putting my random incoherent thoughts on Facebook, I suppose. Also have been busy with school. I totally study now, for real. So what have I been up to... hmm.

Well, I got a new computer, sort of - I traded my old laptop for my dad's slightly-less-old laptop, because mine still runs Windows XP and he's finally had it with Vista.

Oh, and I managed to max out my credit card, by buying textbooks. Just textbooks. Okay, and like one insurance payment. But mostly textbooks! I feel like there is something wrong with the world if I need that many textbooks. Heh. I suppose it comes from not having had to buy textbooks for the last year because I've been repeating all my classes. >.> Speaking of which, I am so far enjoying the semester of actual new classes. Nice to know I don't have to take something twice to be competent, anymore.

Got purple contact lenses this year. It's fun having purple eyes again. ^_^ I got new lenses for my glasses, too - same power but made out of a different kind of plastic. Trivex has soooooo much less chromatic aberration than poly, it's amazing. And probably unnoticeable if you're not an optics nerd, but so it goes.

While I am totally aware of the importance of smoke detectors, and fully support rules requiring them to be in rental properties because so many student rental houses in this town are owned by cheap bastards... is it REALLY necessary to put one right over the only power outlet in the kitchen? There's nowhere else to put the toaster! A slightly singed bagel is not an inferno!

-armor and stuff: bracers, bodice, Secret Project That I Am Not Going To Mention Here Yet, and something I can wear over normal shoes to make it look vaguely like I'm wearing pirate-boots.

...And speaking of boots, if it weren't for the heels I would so need these. [link] As it is, the only places I'd wear them are places I wouldn't want to wear high heels. And somehow I can't quite see myself getting away with calling that "appropriate clinic attire." (...Just the boots, that is; I'm no longer heavily-medicated enough to think about wearing the rest of that outfit! )
